About your Instructor:
Professional chef/cooking instructor Mary Schlueter relocated to mid-Missouri from her home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mary owned her own boutique catering company in Scottsdale for six years with an upscale clientele that included catering parties for 3 Phoenix mayors, 2 Arizona governors and Senator John McCain. She also worked as an executive chef for an exclusive, desert retreat in Carefree, Arizona that hosted many well-known entertainers and celebrities, and in the spa kitchen of the world-renowned Boulder’s Resort.
Mary is an experienced cooking teacher and as a cooking school director at a recreational school in Scottsdale and later at her licensed, in-home school in Jefferson City, has presented literally hundreds of cooking classes. She is a member of the prestigious International Association of Culinary Professionals, wrote a regular food column for the Jefferson City News Tribune for 2 years, and reviewed new cookbooks for a national publication. Her cookbook reviews also appear on the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on-line site among others.
Her philosophy for her classes is that they be fun but also an educational experience with emphasis on culinary history, mastering techniques and chef’s tips for producing professional results.
